Results Only Work Environment (ROWE) is an interesting concept. I like the idea to motivate good staff. I'd be a little nervous about things in a down economy because staff may be working harder for less reward.

Jason, check this out. I think you'll find it everything you're speaking of and looking for and, most importantly, one of the TOP things nonprofits need right now.

I am a firm believer in providing flexibility for maximum performance. When people feel trapped, they are less creative and empowered. I have worked in both settings--getting to work by 8am and making sure everyone was at their desk and allowing everyone to arrive when they determined to come. Those that were in control of their time outperformed those that were treated with strict schedules. Of course this depends on the work you do but for employees such as grant writers, I believe in opening up all options based on performance and their ability to communicate effectively.
