There are thousands of grant and award opportunities out there. This will be a place you can find grants or awards/competitions that are open for any nonprofit in the United States (and often times the world). Grants or competitions included below will either have an online focus or be especially creative. If you know of a current grant or award opportunity that is not mentioned here please add it as a comment below.

Current Opportunities:

Puget Sound Grantwriters Association:- Due August 29
$2,500 grant at “Sweet Sixteen” Annual Fall Conference (see my post).

Microsoft Unlimited Potential- Ongoing
This is a place that you can go to find help with many of your technology needs. You will find discounted Microsoft software, training, and software grants (see my post).

Ideablob.com- Ongoing
Small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits have the opportunity to present an idea. Website visitors can visit the site and vote for the idea they like the best. Every month whoever has the most votes wins $10,000.

Notable Past Opportunities:

Digg Award From Firstgiving: $500 for most dugg Firstgiving page (see my post).

The Collaboration Challenge: $250,000 award for collaboration (see my post).

America’s Giving Challenge: Parade and the Case Foundation held a competition on the Causes application on Facebook. Awards were given to organizations that recieved the highest number of donors each week and the $50,000 grand prize was awarded to the eight organizations who had the most supporters.

Netsquared Mashup Challenge: Every year NetSquared allows “social innovators” to submit projects they are working on usually with a technical slant. This year they are highlighting 21 of these projects and $100,000 will be awarded to the best projects. There end goal is to promote social innovation through web-based tools.
