Another update for the grants section I wanted to make you aware of. Feel free to contribute awards and grants that you hear about.

The Puget Sound Grantwriters Association will award a $2,500 grant at their “Sweet Sixteen” Annual Fall Conference. The deadline is August 29, 2008 and to find more information about their guidelines visit their website.

Artez has a conference coming up in Toronto, Canada, on September 9, 2008.  The conference will be about online fundraising and will discuss Facebook and Google and other popular tools you can use.  If you are interested in more details or would like to sign up visit their website.

Grants and Awards Update

by Jason Dick on July 21, 2008

I want A Small Change to be a resource for you and help your organization succeed. One idea that I’ve had is to let you know about grants and awards that I find online. For this reason a month or so ago I started the Grants Section. I will from time-to-time update it with posts like this of other grants and awards that I find. If you learn of something you do not see here let me know so I can share it with everyone.

Microsoft Unlimited Potential
This is a place that you can go to find help with many of your technology needs. You will find discounted Microsoft software, training, and software grants. (Thanks Jeremy at Raiser’s Edge for the info.)

Digg Award From Firstgiving
Firstgiving is offering $500 to the organization that receives the most digg’s on their Firstgiving fundraising page by July 25. They have extended their deadline from last week to this one. (Thanks Firstgiving for the info.)

Reward for Collaboration

by Jason Dick on May 29, 2008

There are so many new opportunities with unique ways to find funding online that have never been there before. I’ve decided to promote some of those larger and more creative awards on my site. So if your organization is looking for a grant of some kind I will have a place you can go to find some of the more creative and online specific ones. You can find more information about grants & competitions by visiting the Grants page.

You may remember a recent article I published called, Competition or Collaboration. I recently heard about an award that rewards organizations that are working in collaborative. What a great idea! Here are some details:

The Lodestar Foundation is funding a competition called The Collaboration Challenge.

[They are] awarding $250,000 to the collaboration (two or more nonprofits) that present the most compelling evidence as to how business was streamlined, a cause advanced or a group’s quality of life was improved by virtue of the collaboration.

The money will be split between the organizations involved in the collaboration. You can nominate any nonprofit (including your own) but the collaboration must have been going for 18 months before the nomination. Nominations will be accepted June 1 to July 21 for a full list of requirements and suggest a nominee visit The Collaboration Challenge website.
